Did a test shoot today. And had some 'bugs'. I wanted to know if everyone else is having these issues.

1. Playback (sometimes) shows weird dots poping up in the image. Its not in the r3d file, and it goes away from a reboot.

2. A 2 inch pink band on the left hand side of the screen on boot up. Goes away from a reboot.

3. Camera told me that I improperly shut down the camera after I DID properly shut down the camera.

All in all nothing really affected the shoot. It was a test to make sure that it wont fail on me this week for 2 shoots that I have.

All of this happened to me as well Kyle. I started another thread with some other elaborate issues. The 2.0.8 upgrade seemed to fix some of the minor glitches like that.

Just read your thread, Im not having the lens issue you are having. I have the 16-35 2.8 70-200 2.8 50 1.4 and 85 1.8.

Ive never had any of these bugs.

Ive had a bug where when checking focus, and coming out of it quickly, it does some jittery stuff.

I had this one two times and I just pushed the zoom 1:1 back an forth a couple of times and it went away.

An odd issue on mine to mention as well...

New formatted ssd card. 100%. UNPLUGGED LCD from camera since Scarlet was mounted to car mount. Shot a short test while driving. 88% ssd. Then plugged LCD back in to review footage. Guess what... playback was disabled -- completely!

Rebooted once, same thing. Ejected ssd and reinserted. Did not read ssd.
Ejected, rebooted, reinserted ssd... still does not read.
Grabbed another NEW ssd. Same issue. Cannot read ssd.
Power cycled camera - removed battery and unplugged battery plate. Waited 2 minutes. Reinserted ssd, powered back up and everything was fine. Plays back normally.

Total time for issue to fix itself: About 20 mins.

Perhaps it had something to do with unplugging and plugging back the touch lcd while cam was powered on...?....hmmm

Are these dots specific to a light source of any kind? We got some really weird pinkish dots the other day in playback that corresponded to the sun in a time-lapse we were shooting (not a lens flare). Very strange.

And yes we have been having the #3 issue of shutting down properly and on reboot it tells us we have shut down improperly. This happens sometimes regardless of battery life.

We are on 2.0.5 firmware.

Have you guys sent the LOG file to RED support? It would probably help them de-bug the cam / firmware.

G.
