So this was the 2nd time using the scarlet on a professional production that I was directing. The camera froze up twice and I realized why! It's the HDMI port on the scarlet causing the screen to lock up. The minute we remove the HDMI monitor (smallHD DP6), it was fine. We were on set for 14-16 hours and scarlet was rock solid. HDMI, well, I had to hard shut down the camera.

Here are some stills of the work though and some BTS...

Khoa, does it freeze when the HDMI cable accidentally pops out?

I happened upon this before with my epic. Turns out it was a bad hdmi cable. the hdmi cable worked elsewhere, but for some reason that one particular cable froze the camera, not sure why. But another HDMI cable same brand and length worked just fine. Maybe some back connection in the bad cable:-/

Same problem with HDSDI.
We had an older monitor that must not have maintained strong feedback to the camera and we experienced the LCD twitching and camera freezing only while HDSDI was plugged in.
The camera has 100hrs use and only had these problems with HDSDI.

Demetri, it happens when we start adjusting the camera. So I'm assuming it's when the HDMI is getting touched whether it's popping out or moving around. I really wish they had some clamp to lock these cables down.

Even with the HDSDI too? Has it happened multiple times Mitch? I think that's by far my biggest concern. If it consistently freezes on me, I'm afraid one day it just won't turn back on or corruption from a hard shut down or worst, footage gets corrupted.
