Scarlets are scheduled to be released around NAB time.

The cost for a Scarlet with a FIXED Lens/REDhandle/REDmote/battery/5" LCD Touchscreen is looking close to $6,000. Nothing is final.

If the above was final, and the FIXED Scarlet is sold for $6K in a package as Ted has been showing, the Scarlet body+lens would STILL be less than 3K for $3K due to the amount of accessories included. Pretty impressive...

hey, what about the touchscreen? I think it's included.

Oops. It's almost 5am. I'm slackin' due to my lack of sleep. :rolleyes5:

:) that's OK. I just wanted to add the comment because most of the fast, informal, and correct answer comes from you on reduser, so there shouldn't be a flaw in this comment:)
anyway, is REDhandle is the official name for the side handle?

thanks

Really? I know they said there would be a big announcement at NAB (what exactly who knows), but thought the Scarlet was suppose to release sometime around the "end of Summer".

If I recall correctly, that was the timeframe for a totally new-to-RED buyer to have theirs in their hand. I believe Joseph is correct with the initial launch date. There will be something of wait, though, since R1 owners will potentially have some precedent.

Edit: "End of summer" is the "brutally pessimistic estimate on how long it might take someone [with], currently no deposit down, not in line, to hope to acquire a Scarlet or Epic S..."
>>>Realistic Hope?

Will R1 owners have precedent? I remember (doesn't mean it happened) reading that this isn't the case. Obviously long time R1 owners have the option to upgrade to Epic, but I don't remember anything about existing Red customers having a leg up on the rest of use with regard to Scarlet. I wouldn't be upset if they did - I'm sure the first Scarlets are going to go to selected customers - but it would be be pretty awesome if Red got democratic about things and sold Scarlets on a first come first serve basis.

Of course, I could be totally wrong about this. I just seem to remember that there is no Epic-like "stage" program with Scarlet.

I recall, and I am pretty confident that this is accurate, that the only folks who will go to the head of the line on Scarlet are those RED ONE owners who haven't otherwise executed their cameras on an Epic purchase. Once the RED ONE is executed, the owner is in line like everyone else. Of course, no final, official policy has been announced yet.

I agree, that's the last I remember. I didn't want to say that R1 owners would or wouldn't - hence the potentially. But I wonder who won't be executing for an Epic-X?

How long before the final release of Scarlet Fixed (Be That May, July, etc) do you think/estimate we'll be able to place our order/payment? My hope would be at least 60 days but I'm just curious on other's guesses?

Jarred... How far behind is the non fixed scarlet if we say the scarlet 8X is about to be released in May? How could i order?

What is the latest speculation about the release of the Epic S? I know EPIC X and M are going to be the priority but is it possible to roughly estimate when we could expect the little sister to hit the market? What are the latest rumours guys?

Cheers!

We have no previous data to base anything on. I think it'd be best to not speculate about it until RED tells us...

Enough is enough...its not funny you know?
everyday people asking is scarlet on market? even on their first posts..
Dude there is a SEARCH BUTTON!!!! :gun::gun::gun::gun::gun::gun:

No offense, but the search button on this forum isn't exactly up to google standards if you know what I mean.

Precisely. That's why a lot of us use tinyurl.com/reduser That will limit google searches just to Reduser.net and Red.com

Or you can just google with site:reduser.net at the start of the query.

Of course, you don't need a search to click Store on the RED site and see that Scarlet is 'Coming Soon'.
