  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We are finally getting Scarlet footage this weekend! As I'm sure you've already figured out, This is nothing more then a pitiful attempt to pass time until the footage is posted. Why don't we use this space to discuss our hopes for the footage and reminisce regarding how long we've all waited.
My guess is that it'll be identical to RED ONE 2k. What do YOU think?

Ooops, beat me to it.

Based on the phrasing of the question though, this weekend will be the "earliest". So I'd say it is not guaranteed. Here’s hoping though!
 
Jarred! I know you can hear me! WILL WE GET FOOTAGE?!? I don't want to stay up all weekend for nothing.
 
In retrospect, I should have just asked when we would see footage instead of the earliest we would see it but I still remain hopeful for some footage. At the very least, it is coming very very soon.
 
I too am optimistic that it will happen this weekend and it’s good to know that footage is coming soon one way or another! I’m also glad the question was asked and answered! I just observed some wiggle room on the date and wanted to point it out.

Getting some footage will be a huge milestone. I can’t wait!

Well, except Jarred posted that on 5/22, which was the beginning of THAT weekend (and actually at only 9 minutes in to it on Saturday morning, Jarred's time).

Typically, if you are in your current weekend, and refer to next weekend, then you are talking ~7 days hence, and not 14.

At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

What I think Joseph meant was that when Jarred responded to his question of when was the "earliest" we could see footage, Jarred response of "next weekend" meant no sooner than that, but not necessarily a promise that there would be footage "next weekend".

I believe that's what Joseph meant by his "earliest" statment.

I was addressing his "next" statement.

I hope they will show footage including:

1) Lighting types and color temps: Tungsten, Flourescent, LED, clear sky daylight, overcast sky daylight.

2) A test chart at full res with converging black lines on white

3) A foreground (hot ;) model's face and a patterned muslin backgrop outside the focus.

4) A foreground model with a chroma green backdrop.

5) Fast motion across frame, like a car with spoked wheels.

6) A low-constrast scene, like a boat tied up to the bank of a misty foggy morning lake.
 
This is great news! I hope they give a few different types of shots for us to see instead of a slow liz. Some low-light, daylight, and fast action shots would be nice.
 
Despite some ambiguity there, I would hope Jarrred is answering these questions in good faith instead of just playing with semantics. Meaning that there truly is a good possibility that we’ll see footage THIS weekend since the question was answered LAST weekend.

Of course if we don’t see footage then they didn’t “miss” the date because that was only the earliest we could get it.

I agree that it would be nice to see some footage from a natural lighting scenario. I would also like to see some low-light footage because I’m curious how Scarlet will perform under those conditions.
