Hello everyone,

I have been following the news on Red for a while...but I am not 100% up-to-date; so I apologize if this was discussed before...hopefully someone from the Red team would be able to answer this...

As the title says...are there any plans to have markings (f-stop, DOF numbers etc) on the 8X Lens of the Scarlet...or is it going to be electronically displayed in the LCD?

Best wishes.

I doubt there will be markings on the lens, because the single ring can be programmed to control aperture, focus, or zoom. The fact that it's a servo-controlled ring suggests that you can turn it infinately (no stop points) in which case markings would not work at all. Even if there were physical stop points on the ring, I would image markings for focus, aperture, and focal length would get pretty cluttered and confusing. I'm just speculating here - maybe RED will suprise us, again...

I bet there will be markings, but no indicative of whether they are focus or zoom, but marking to show points across the ring

Wasn't it confirmed that the RED Electronic lenses had OLED markings? I know these are much larger lenses but maybe that's what we're going to see on the fixed Scarlet.

Single ring with a hash mark on it with a scale on either side, one for zoom, the other for focus?
