Will the battery grip, Redmote and monitor be able to be used on the NON-Fixed body? If so, this would be great : )

All those can be used on any DSMC cam (Scarlet-F, Scarlet Cinema or EPIC).

Yes, of course. It's a modular system.

The "Fixed" has the disadvantage of not being able to change its lens.

But, looking at it differently, it has the advantage of being delivered with a high quality lens, covering the most important focal lengths (28-224mm), with fine tuned auto focus capability made especially for the Scarlet, at a price that is unbeatable.

All accessories like grip and RedMote are the same across the range of cameras from Scarlet to Epic: that is what makes this modular—part of Jim's vision.

Ahh so this is awesome : ) You can buy a Fixed Scarlet then use it's body parts on the Non-Fixed body. Add a Canon or Nikon mount and second Scarlet would be done right?

My understanding is that weight matters not in space, but in getting to space. In other words, every extra payload ounce costs a considerable amount to get into space. And it is displacing another ounce that could be water, food, electrical, etc.

The disadvantage of an 8x constant f2.4 zoom for less than, what, $3K?

These are the kind of disadvantages I want in life... :biggrin5:

Exactly my thought.

That makes sense. Anyway, sorry to drift off topic. Like I said before, I'm just really excited to see how this camera will be used!
