  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

scarlet fix zoom LENS feature request

good joke.. they are not.

(good tip on the 1st one)

Why not? Having settings of maybe 18mm, 24mm, 35mm, 55mm and 75mm would be an excellent idea for match moving. That would really help set up 3d software cameras to speed up the process for match moving and compositing! I wouldnt think it would be too hard to implement for the red team as long as it didn't affect the zoom and obviously wouldnt with an engage-disengage toggle. Whoever gave you this idea christian is a genius!

This sounds like an engineering nightmare that would probably require a complete re design to incorporate...

Since we're spit-balling, I think indicators for particular focal lengths (or their equivalents on S35 or FF cameras) might be nice, but rather than hard stops, since the lens is fly-by-wire controlled, how about a "push to seek" mode for the zoom toggle, which would jump to your next chosen focal length, or even just changing the color of the number on the OSD when you zoom to your preferred focal length(s) manually?

Also, since the REDmote offers wireless FIZ control, I wonder if it could also incorporate a memory for FIZ moves which could be triggered by GPIO or the press of the "record" button?

I dont doubt it will have accurate markings , but what about a toggle mode for increments that 'click' into place for quick length reference?...

Reference to what? Equivalent focal lengths? If so, I think it is the responsibility of the the operator to learn them. It's something I've had to do in preparation for Scarlet's release.

How do you know?
