Hey guys,
We are debatting what would be the best option to counterweight properly a Scarlet X or Epic with Red Primes, Matteboxetc... on a Mantis Hand Held Rig.
I see 4 small holes on the back of the rig, maybe some adaptor could let us rig a counterweight?

An other option would be to use longer 15mm studio rods and mount a counterweight at the back of the rod configuration.
we would love it to go vertical so it's not too long at the back?

Anyway, anyone has an idea, a solution?
We are planning to buy the accesories needed

Thank you all.
Gab

Scarlet X 666.

I have used long rods with V brick on the back for balance. I seem to remember that the holes on the back of the rig were for mounting a brick too.

they sell something called a "vdock" and a vdock plate to attach to the red battery plate. with the two of those you can mount a brick back there, and it will put the weight low and on your shoulder. You can also come off with rods and put stuff back there. The big thing to try, is to get the camera as far back as possible and look for another way to mount the EVF or LCD much more forward of the body. This will work esp well if you have a focus puller working on the opposite side of the camera (so the follow focus knob isn't in your face). I have a mantis and i have a Gunner. On both i am pushing the camera back as far as possible, with the EVF not attached to the camera body. helps a ton with balance.

James, exactly what i am trying to configure, cause I ordered Redmote too.
Any thoughts about which plate/adapter for V-lock batteries can be used to attach to 19mm rods? Also considering to carry the V-Lock adapter/battery on a belt. Swit adapter + Globalmedia have my attention.

Do I need an ET shuttle mount? Can't find it at woodencamera..
Thx.

Just wanted to list a solution that have available, we've just recently released our ActionProducts SwivelMounts (for our ShoulderMount, 15mm Rods, and 19mm Rods) which allow the mounting of our battery module. This allows for optimum balancing of various camera setups
