Has the motion/stills function been added yet? Ya know where you can hit the switch and grab a single still, like a dslr?
I know its all about the dragon now, but I'm wondering if this ever got worked out?

Mostly no, but sort of yes.

As far as I know, this will never be exactly how it works. The last I remember being talked about, is that the plan is to have the camera record video, and when you hit the Record trigger, it'll place a Marker in the footage that you can then easily find in RedCine-X (or other editing software). But this has not been implemented yet.

You can, of course, shoot video and take stills and use them as photos right this second. On Scarlet you're limited to 12FPS at 5K (and this is one of the few useable applications of 12FPS 5K), and on Epic it's 96FPS.

Thank you

I thought that would have been sorted out by now : (

Bigger fish and all I guess....

With the new recording options in 4.0.x you can implement a pseudo stills mode in several ways. Some examples:

- Set the camera up to take a fixed number of frames per record (you can set up the burst rate with the FPS)
- Start a timelapse record with a key mapped as the external trigger. This will allow you to manually add frames to one recording.

In the next 4.0.x release we will finally add the recording options to things that can be added to presets. This means you'll be able to create a 'Stills' and 'Movie' preset and even assign them to a key (like the S/M switch on the side handle).
