The type of work I'm shooting is often captured at 12 or even 8fps, then sped up in post, so have been enjoying 5k on my Scarlet X. Maybe this is too speculative to even ask at this point, but am now wondering if Scarlet Dragon 6k is a possibility down the road via firmware updates, say at a lower framerate, like 12... Technically I'd assume it's quite possible, but will the 5k line in the sand remain indefinitely?

Jarred has said a few times Scarlet will never do 6k.

First up an answer to a few questions out there. I caught Jarred in between probably 15 different meetings, but I did get some important questions answered.

Q: Will Scarlet Dragon have any 6K functionality?
A: Nope. Scarlet Dragon records at 5K at up to 60 frames per second.

Ok that's the gist of what I've read too, thanks.

Was searching for a glimmer of hope there, but realistically 5k is almost more than I can handle at least now and Dragon's many other advantages look pretty amazing regardless. Some tough decisions ahead...

Yes!!! I somehow missed this Scarlet Dragon announcement from NAB:

6K FF: 12 fps

My prayers have been answered... THANK YOU RED!!!

"(in Burst mode)" I'm pretty sure that the 6K is going to be more of a "photo mode" than a time lapse feature, from the sound of that.
