Hello. Not sure where to post it because of multiple questions...The fact is that I am getting a bit confused about one technical issue: As I know, the basis to do propper slow motion is to record at high frame rates and later play it at normal rates (for example, if I record at 120 fps latter can play it at 24 fps with an 1/5 slow factor...Am I right till here? So what about Project Time Base, what is it for? Second question: Dragon sensor seems great but for scarlet dragon max frame rates are 38.42 at 4K FF (don´t know even if is normal record mode or burst mode)...so these figures are supposed to improve later with newer firmwares?.If not, I am thinking that an Epic Misterium-X is far better (more flexibility) for me than an scarlet dragon with my budget....what do you think mates?

The Project Time Base is the speed you want it "played back" at. For example, you shoot 48fps, and have a Project Time Base of 48fps, it will playback at 48fps normal speed. Where as if you shoot 48fps, with 24fps time base, then that will be slow motion.

I'm assuming the 38.42 fps limit that you saw was for a 8:1 compression ratio. If you turn up the compression ratios, then you get more FPS. Max fps on Scarlet dragon are as follows:

6K FF: 12 FPS (in Burst mode)
5K FF: 48 FPS
4K FF: 60 FPS
3K FF: 80 FPS
2K FF: 120 FPS

5K 2.4:1: 60 FPS
4K 2.4:1: 75 FPS
3K 2.4:1: 100 FPS
2K 2.4:1: 150 FPS

Higher compression ratios aren't as scary on the Dragon as they are on the MX, so keep that in mind too. (8:1 compression on Dragon looks better than 8:1 on MX.) With all of these factors, I'm about to purchase a Dragon Scarlet myself, as I want the new color science, better dynamic range, and the FPS is still high enough that I don't "need" to go for MX-Epic.
