Scarlet Dragon to Epic Dragon upgrade path?

I ordered my Scarlet the night it was announced. I love my Scarlet. It has been the best camera I have ever owned and I am so glad I went RED. When the upgrade paths were announced for Scarlet owners I was blown away. What a great company!

However, I am really torn between which upgrade path to choose. Now with Dragon so close I'm very tempted to upgrade to Scarlet Dragon vs Epic MX. I can't afford to swing both upgrades right now. It seems the biggest drawback to Scarlet Dragon, and conversely the best argument for Epic MX, is the inability to get to Epic Dragon eventually which is where I really want to be eventually.

Does anyone think that RED may offer an upgrade path from Scarlet Dragon to Epic Dragon ever? Perhaps someone at RED could chime in.

No, based on what we've been told, there won't be a Scarlet Dragon to Epic Dragon upgrade path.

Yeah

It kind of flies in the face of the whole philosophy of allowing upgrades due to new technology I guess. Sure would be awesome though. Plus it might prove to be profitable for RED someday considering that the sensor wouldn't need to be switched out.

I for one would love to upgrade to Scarlet Dragon now and in a year upgrade to Epic Dragon and would be thrilled to pay another $9500 to do so. In fact now that I think about it, you would think it might be more profitable for RED to do that. Wouldn't Scarlet MX to Scarlet Dragon to Epic Dragon be the same or less than Scarlet MX vs Epic MX to Epic Dragon?

When people upgrade Scarlet x to Scarlet Dragon they should get new Scarlet Dragon body(may call it Scarlet Dragon) so that it can be upgraded to a new camera (may call it Scarlet Dragon super x) with similar specs like Epic Dragon. I believe there should be one more option of.... upgrading Scarlet x to Scarlet 5k (24 fps) for around $2000 for those who don't need dragon right now but need 5k (24 fps on their current Scarlet x)

I think what they currently offer is more than fair. No one else offers anything like this. My plan is to upgrade to the Scarlet Dragon. 60 fps at 5k is more than enough for my needs.

Scarlet Dragon with a new body and a new fan system installed and this new body capable of upgradeable to something similar to Epic Dragon will be a good idea (just my opinion). We have a option to upgrade Scarlet x to Epic x then we should have an option to upgrade from Scarlet x to Scralet 5k 24 fps (say for $2000).
