How are you all? From what i've understood, what takes time about "Red Dragon", is the upgrade from an old sensor to a whole new one (and some other reasons)..

Does anybody know when the Red Scarlet Dragon will be available on the store? (the upgrade program is available, not the Scarlet Dragon)

Does anybody know if a Scarlet Dragon is on the wild already? And i know that it has been discussed thousands times, but in your opinion, when will it be possible to buy a Red dragon and receive it like we receive an epic X after an order?

I think that one of the key is the dragon color science, and the Nab2014 ..

:( ... i am slowly desperate from waiting for upgrade. guys from red never say any ETA even a Quarter year would be great, i am starting to be affraid that scarlet dragon will come in summer 2014 which would be to late for me... so wondering to skip to epic mx and than back to scarlet dragon whenever it comes but they dont allow "tradein downgrade from epic mx to scarlet dragon"

Maybe are they working on a whole new camera body design? The one thing i really wish is a huge improvement of the new color science, in my sense, it's much more important than any over resolution... The dynamic range seems to be better, the low light capabilities too, all this camera need now to be a "monster", is a fuc**kin' beautiful color science, i'm sure Red has some surprises for us..

And summer 2014 sounds good to me, but i'm not sure it'll be the case.. Like Dunkan said, 2015 is pretty more realistic i guess..

I cannot wait for the Scarlet Dragon! But I need time to save, so I am liking the time to do so.

I know everyone is saying the Scarlet to Epic to Dragon is the better path to go, but for MYSELF, I disagree. A Scarlet D is really the only camera I need given the current specs. You improve everything when you upgrade to the Scarlet Dragon. Framerate, Resolution, Dynamic Range, Lowlight capability and the Color Science is always improving. I have said a couple times that with the release of the Dragon sensor (and/or maybe Sony's F65 sensor), that the camera technology will start to plateau. It will no longer really matter at 16+ stops of dynamic range, above 4K, higher frame rate than 72 fps, and a clean ISO at 1600. Anything above that in my opinion will just be icing on the cake.

The Dragon upgrade fixes the only major "weaknesses" the Scarlet had. Will the Scarlet Dragon be an Epic Dragon? Heck no! But it will be a great camera with none of the real handicaps that the Scarlet MX had.
