Whats the thoughts on Scarlet Dragon and keying?

Is there any r3ds to download as I'd like to dig into how the compression affects the key?

There's been some discussion but no examples? Any dragon scarlet users had some experience in this area?

Hi Donald,

I ALMOST had some examples for you two weeks back, but the client demanded we go C300 on that job (dummies!). And even keying the C300 footage was pretty easy, really.

Are you asking for examples that show the various compression rates (as in, 8:1. 5:1, etc.), and how that affects keying?

I shot a lot of stuff on RED MX and never had any keying issues, even at rates the old RED drives could muster. I mean a LOT of stuff- hours and hours and hours. In general, keying RED is dead simple, as long as you light the screen evenly and have some separation of subject and background.

Thanks. Yes if R1 can handle it ok then scarlet will be better - I just wanted to check out how the different compression ratios affect the key and if I could try to figure out what the compression difference between Epic Dragon and Scarlet Dragon might provide.

from my last 3D movie "Hippopotamos", it's not the Scarlet but the Epic Dragon but I think it might help you.
