  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet Deal of a Lifetime

The only thing Im stuck on is the RED Armor :P
 
Since I'm new at this, do I need to buy the RED Armor at the same time as Scarlet purchase?
 
I'm digging deep and want to make the jump. So many parts to get a working system and the cost keeps climbing. Now I'm looking for audio solutions since I do my own with wireless mics. I already have a lot of other pieces like Gold Mount batteries and a DP6 as well as a DP4 EVF but I think I need the touch screen for menus. Tilta rig. Solid tripod. My main lenses are PL. Tokina 11-16, RED 17-50 and a Zeiss CP2 85mm. So I need a PL mount. If I could just get the minimum to start out I might be able to do it. This is the toughest decision I've had in a long time. I feel like I'm on a game show trying to win the car!

I will be stewing it over for the next 3 hours :(
 
I will literally walk into Reds headquarters with a cashiers check tomorrow morning. (I live next door essentially)

As Jarred mentioned last night - and it bears repeating - we are getting these all back from the shoot, inventorying them, running them through full-blown QC, re-packaging, stocking them as "battle-tested", etc etc. Given all that has to happen to get that done - including bringing in some extra staff and setting up extra QC stations, plan on a little extra processing time on these.

Ok, getting a lot of PM's of "can you hold one for me until x date?". Obviously, I cannot go out to the warehouse and start putting Post Its on cameras with people's names on them, haha.

So, to get locked in with one of the remaining few SCARLETS (Battle-Tested), I suggest you order sooner than later. Once we run the numbers and see sales are about to exceed the number used on the shoot*, we'll pull that friends-and-family link from RED.com.

Will at some point somebody post the shot and tell us this was the shoot that led to the mass scarlets up for sale?

I'm so curious!

They were probably able to source a bunch of ssd's from local rental houses... SSDs are much easier to come by than cameras.
 
And, since a few have PM'ed me with "when will my rep contact me with next steps?", note that this spike from the BT SCARLETS has them playing a little bit of catch-up as well. And a lot of the orders were to new additions to the RED customer family so they have some questions about accessories, etc to work with their reps on. You'll hear from us soon - and certainly before your SCARLET is ready to ship :)
