  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

None of them had more than a minute of record time. We can't sell them as new.. and the rental was good.. so we are giving you guys a one time break on these as " Battle Tested " Scarlets.

$7100 instead of the regular $11,900. Scarlet Brain, Side SSD and Canon Mount. And because I know someone will ask, you can't swap the mount to a Nikon or PL for this deal.

They come with the standard Battle Tested 90 day warranty.. but we will open up RED ARMOR just on these since we were with them 100% of the time that they were out of the box and are as close to brand new as you can get.

Ugh, ok YOU GOT ME. How do I get RED Armor? is been a while since i've bought anything.

Be able to add on Red Armor to these tomorrow through your rep if you order tonight. Will be live on Red.com tomorrow to get that at time of order.

But we would only be able to add it on at time of purchase, or during the term of our original warranty, which in this case is 90 days not 1 year? Just trying to get my options straight, sorry to pester :D

Is this setting a precedent for what happens when Jim is in Fiji and you are in charge?

I suspect you're going to make a lot of new owners happy this week...

I read somewhere that the Wachowski siblings were trying to do something even more revolutionary than bullet time for Jupiter Ascending, maybe these Scarlets had something to do with it.

I think if John Gaeta (VFX on The Matrix and creator of "Bullet Time") is involved then that may be feasible. He was the first to put the actual theory into practice of multiple camera capture. Not sure if it's still a trade secret or a way of capturing that is still kept under his control.

Since not live to get it now, you can add it with your rep this week. Once live on RED.com, have to buy it at time of purchase of the brain.

If you get a 40% deal like this on an used epic I would buy it right away!
 
I'm sadly too broke but news has been duly propagated to a known DP I know.

Using motion cameras on a bullet time walkaround shot. Provided that large number of cameras could be genlocked and why not, there's a feast of options available, my guess - bulllet time including motion? - 3D? - the walkaround superimposed in both directions - limited by my own imagination, I'm sure the techs have something else in store. Just imagine a martial arts move between two combatents shot with that rig. --- Jealous ? Yes. ---- Competent myself to do it ? Definitely no.
