  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet Countdown Timer!

Nice!

nicely done - just need to figure out how to put it in the corner of my Desktop as a reminder Bug (Like I would forget...?)

If it's a 2/3" scarlett I will be sorely disappointed. I'm hoping for a S35 scarlett, with limited frame rates and pro res recording.

If it it a Scarlett S35 I will put my money down straight away!!!!

I hope it's 2/3 4k Scarlet.. Shallow DOF has been exhausted over the last few years.. I want to SEEEEEEE stuffs ;-)

Sounds harsh to be disapointed on the last Scarlet specs based on wild speculations that Scarlet may have changed some specs. Im just saying in this case you making youre own specs in your head and judge from that. Be happy man! Maby it is an Epic light just around the corner.

I hear a lot of debate about S35 vs 2/3 and such.
Now I do not claim to be a DP, I write/direct/produce films.
This to me is where the "Content is King" philosophy really hits the nail on the head.

I feel that at 3k or 4k resolution your gonna have what you need for your shot.

Now... once again I am not a DP and I am not as concerned about super specific Bokeh.

I do appreciate all the artistry that photographers and cinematographers posess and I learn as much as I can from them.

I know, we currently can't make a call on Scarlet what ever it is.

So, other than Shallow DOF (which still may be possible), and framing differences (move back or forward, easy fix), why should I be so concerned with 2/3's vs S35? (This is an honest question, not sarcasm)

I will go so far as saying, as much has I like the freedom of interchangable lenses, a fixed lens is just fine with me.

I am stricty speaking from a perspective of story telling, 3k/4k with HDR is enough.

Fixed or Interchangable lenses won't tell the story any better or worse. 99% of the audience will not be affected any differently from a Red fixed lens vs a Zeiss.

For me the decision is going to be whats available for the price.

I'm pulling for a bump to S16mm frame size at 4k. Still 3k at 2/3".

Ah.. well I figured out why I was confused with the times, the countdown is based on your current computer time, and is set for the 3rd of November @ 9PM no timezone specified.
So my date/time is always screwing up on my laptop, so I had a look at the countdown this morning and look what made me extremely excited!
