When you control the Pre-Amp does is have any effect on the quality of the sound you are recording? Or, is just controlling the input level of incoming audio?
Sometimes when I play with the Pre-Amp I feel like turning it up adds gain and white noise so I'm wondering what exactly is happening.
I typically only use the scarlet audio as scratch and record the master a separate recorder, but I'm always curious to know what the internal audio is capable of. Btw, I use the x A-box to connect XLR mics
