Scarlet and Sigma 70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro?

[Joseph Lam]

Hi all,

I just tried using my Sigma 70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro with the Scarlet tonight, and found that the Scarlet doesn't offer iris control/focus on this lens.

Has anyone been able to get this to work?

I'm on the latest firmware release.

Thanks!
Joseph

There is a List published here (somewhere...) of "officially" supported lenses, of which IIRC there are some models of Sigs on there. I have a Tamron 24-70 that is not "official" but the iris controls work fine and the AF is OK (bit slow) - now if RED could operate the IS on it...!

Great response time from the RED team

For those that might be considering this lens for your Scarlet/Epic - here is the response from RED as of today:

Unfortunately, the Sigma 70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro is not supported on the SCARLET at this moment. This might change in a future firmware build.
