Scarlet and lenses???

I read that Scarlet will have a fixed lens.

I take it then that if you wanted to use the Red lenses, you would need to get a Red One?

Does Scarlet's fixed lens mean there is no way to couple it with for example Zeiss prime or Nikon prime lenses via adapters like the Redrock M2 or Brevis, etc???

That is correct- I suspect there will be an 3rd party market for lens adapters. That said, a 3K resolution coupled with a 2/3" chip will likely yield sufficiently tasty depth of field capabilities and you won't miss the heavy duty lenses as much as you would on a 1/3 or 1/2" chip HD camera.

Exactly! And may 35mm adapters be a thing of the past!

The Scarlet's shape really lends itself to use with 35mm adapters -- it's thin and tall and takes rods without goofy risers, but honestly, the DOF you'll be able to achieve with the naked camera will be quite good. I'd rather not put all that extra glass in front of the lens.

Adapter configurations are just clumsy.

Even though the DoF would be much better than any other prosumer camera for the same price, it seems to me that all that extra resolution would lend itself well to a 35mm adapter (less fuzzies).

Am I wrong to assume that?
