Is here any official word on using Anamorphic lenses on Scarlet?

Just curious if we can get some sort of official idea on that... even if there is no FF version...what can we do with the s35 sensor?

- What size will the sensor be for that application? - Hopefully as big as it can be...bigger than the Red's anamorphic mode now.

I know the cam is not due out for a while but I need to know where to put my $$$ and if Scarlet will not support anamorphic lenses I need to move up or over...Red or Epic.

Keep in mind that with 2X anamorphic lenses, the recorded area of the sensor is 1.20 : 1 -- so current Red One anamorphic recording is 2764 x 2304 pixels, a sensor area that is 14.93mm x 12.44mm.

35mm film cameras with anamorphic lenses use an area that is closer to approx. 21mm x 18mm... what's nice about the 30mm x 15mm M-X sensor is that it suggests that the anamorphic mode will get closer to a 15mm tall frame rather than a 12.44mm height, which of course means more width will be used as well, and more pixels overall.

That's what I'm hoping for. Just trying to get an official word on Ana modes on the scarlet

....guess that will come in the announcement ...... hopefully the stripped down Epics will have the biggest ANA specs a S35sensor can have.
