Hi all-
Think I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a Scarlet package. I want to order some custom cases to be ready to go when the camera arrives from RED, but I've had a really hard time getting exact dimensions (in mm or precise inches) of any of the equipment. The closest thing I've found is the tech section of the Epic ops manual, but I'm not sure how much that differs and where. I've seen a lot of really nice customized cases (RED's and Cinema Oxide's come to mind) but my kit is going to be just different enough (no touch monitor yet, maybe not as many/any REDVolts) that I want to customize it on my own.
If anyone is able to get me measurements or point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

-Harry

You really should just wait for the stuff and take it to your foam cutting place and let them measure it. My preferred foam cutting place (cases plus in Lincoln, CA) held onto my equipment for a few days while they took measurements and did CAD drawings. I'd much rather leave it to the pros than leave something out. They did an extremely comprehensive set of measurements on my gear and did a great job.

Enjoy!

Thanks Trevor. Timewise between delivery and my first project I'd like to use it on I may not have time for the delay of receiving gear and then getting foam made up, but you do bring up a good point. Any chance you and/or Cases Plus still has the measurements/files and could share? It'd be great to see a photo of how your cases turned out if you have one handy.
Thanks,

-Harry

You're welcome, Harry!
I haven't had anything done for my RED yet... same boat as you, been too busy! But Cases Plus did two cases for my DSLR stuff a few years ago and they turned out GREAT. I posted a few pics in another thread... I will have to dig those up.

If you aren't going to be checking your gear through checked baggage on the airlines, consider padded dividers for your cases. If, for instance, you're using the Pelican 1510, the Pelican padded dividers are actually SUPER useful, and provide plenty of protection for carry-on air and car travel. I've been really happy with them, and that's yet another reason why I've postponed getting custom foam.

Which cases do you have?
