Was working on a project and took a moment to shoot a few 60p clips to see how the scarlet would handle them. It was freezing cold outside, but we managed to get some good coverage with zero problems and I'm thoroughly impressed with 2k 60p. I'd love to see 120!

Yeah, I think so, and that's without any noise reduction and after x264 & vimeo compression.

Looks really good. It's for this very reason that I just bought a Zeiss 10-100 T2 16mm Zoom, as I'm hoping it delivers nicely at 60fps. This is another reminder of how nice these specs look. I mean, it IS RAW after all, it just won't be as sharp as 4K because there's you're not oversampling down from 4K to 1080. You're just going 2K to 1080. But again. Very nice.

Technically your going up to 1080 from 2k RED, since 2k is less than 1080 after debayering.

But I love 2k, I use it all the time.

I will use 1k too.

Not to sound like a dork, but the concept of debayering has still eluded me, it's like my last RED missing puzzle. I know it's part of the transcode out of RED, but what "exactly" happens I don't know. But I'll take your word for it. I know in the real world 2K is larger then 1920x1080. But what you say I've heard before, so I'm going to take it at face value.

I have some homework to do...

Too much to learn...

Head hurts...
