  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet 2k 75 fps test

Gnomes can only be captured in 6K. :-)

And FWIW, Gremlins can only be captured with an Alexa! ;-)

love the look of that lens ;)

That's beautiful.

8mm is heading into fisheye territory isn't it?

On 35mm yes, but on 16mm no.

On 16mm, this wide angle "feels" more like shooting on an btw 16-18mm on Super 35mm.

The design itself is not a fisheye - it's a rectilinear "distagon".

Remember, smaller negatives needed small focal lengths to capture every day imagery.

So a common s16mm set of Super Speeds is:
9.5mm
12mm
16mm
25mm

Where as s35mm Super Speeds are:
18mm
25mm
35mm
50mm
85mm

This is just a T2 wide angle for 16mm (not even s16), and is an 8mm prime.

A "fisheye" in s16 is more like a 5.9mm

Hope this helps!

What a beautiful piece!
I've got a bunch of old, nice S16 lenses we will try and shoot a music video with this weekend. This was really inspirational! Well done :)
I've heard some problems about shooting 2K and that something happens in the cropping process which makes the image not as sharp. Can you confirm this?
