I was wondering if anyone else has thought of still using the Scarlet 2/3 rds with an SGBlade or Letus ultimate etc. Certainly save some money on the big boys and get a 'similiar' FOV. I know some feel that the train has moved on to Larger sensors.
For the bottom of the price range indie - I can see some advantages
The Fixed Scarlet 2/3rds is much cheaper, small and light and can be a 'take it anywhere' kind of camera with a useful zoom. Discreete enough to be inconspicuous as well.
One of the cons is that it doesn't give the 35 mm look. So I was wondering - will my DOF adaptor still have some work left in it? Perhaps not for the high frame rate stuff but for the 24p medium shots. I am intrigued. The Scarlet will no doubt have better low light than the EX1 and I have seen some wonderful images done in low light with that cam and a DOF adaptor.
This makes the modular concept even more expandable. Want that 35 mm softer look, stick it on - off for the crazy sharp look. The S35 scarlet will be way out of my price range and also has limited frame rates at the highest res.
Is this a nice compromise for the same FOV without the extra dollars? What do you guys think.:seeya:
