  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet 120 fps demo?

I never said it would look exactly like that. I posted that to show what the frame rate should look like, not the quality. However, I'd point out that that that clip is ugly Youtube compressed to SD video, so hopefully what we get out of the Scarlet actually looks better. No one should be expecting the quality of 3k and yes there's the crop factor of course. But that's what the frame rate will look like.

personally i think it will be pretty useless...everyone knows that epic/scarlet are a bit soft at 1:1 ratio due to the OLPF and debayer. Combine that with 1k resolution and I don't see it being that impressive Image wise for even SD. I hope the hold up is them working on getting 120 fps in 2k. that would be a dream come true.

It'll be great for Youtube videos of smashing watermelons and such, that's for sure.
 
I don't know though, I seem to be wondering a lot lately about their intentions. So many things are restricted on the Scarlet. I understand keeping it different from Epic due to price, but a few of those things are just silly. Why put that it can do 120 fps at 1k at all if 1:it doesn't yet and 2:it is 1k?
 
120fps @ 1k = crap
120fps @ 3k = sexy

scarlet in its current form has lost a lot of its sex appeal imo..
 
Exactly. All the hype built by making us wait for it, and guess what? It isn't enabled, and when it is if as stated, will be crap. Super surprised no fanboys have flamed me yet. But hey look! my 101st comment!
