I'm very excited to say Scarlet #0120 is here. My side handle will be here tomorrow, and I can't wait to get this camera recording.

Thank You Jim, our movies and now photos are indebted to your ingenuity. Also, Madi, and everyone at Red! This camera is unbelievable, 4:4:4 RAW power, S35, and so inexpensive!

I have to be one of the last people to still have an original M sensor in my Red-One, and still use the camera regularly. I saved the sensor upgrade dough for stage 3. Having my own MX in the Scarlet opens doors for me.

This will certainly make the end of the wait for stage 3 to come up much easier.

Congratulations!! Good for you :)

Thanks everyone!

Congrats Baker! Just curious and to add to rampant speculation on sidehandles shipping, did you order you Sidehandle with the Scarlet? Or prior?

I ordered the handle on 10/3... One month earlier.

4:4:4 ? Is that accurate, RED is not 4:4:4 is it? And Congrats, can't wait to get one.

Congrats! Looks like you beat me to being the first one in Reno, NV ;) If you ever need a second local camera and operator, I should be receiving my Scarlet-X hopefully pretty soon.

My Red One is 4:4:4. Same redcode I believe.

Thanks Tyler, Jon, Dane, and Scott! Tyler and Dane, I will look you up for more shooters when needed! Feel free to do the same.

Scott, congrats to you on your new Epic! See you at Squaw.

hahaha... photo looks like a really bad composite cause you used a flash :)

or actually, maybe it is a bad composite... wow.

We should start a Tahoe/Northern CA owners group. My Epic will be here soon and when I'm not at my place in LA I'm in Truckee. Reno, Squaw, Truckee, Tahoe ... all of our mountain playgrounds.

I'm down! I actually posted one earlier today in the RedUser groups section. All Tahoe/ Reno folks drop a line there do we can find each other. I already know a dozen or so red one/ Epic owners and people with scarlet orders. It will be a good resource for gear and operators.

Funny, I actually saw your request for batts when I went to put up the user group. Had I seen that before, I could have hooked you up.

4:4:4 does not really apply to RED as it refers to YUV encoding which does not really relate to bayer RAW images. Compared to 1080p 4:4:4, however you could describe RED 4kHD sort of as 8:4:4, but that would be inaccurate in its own way. You can certainly derive 1080p 4:4:4 images from 4kHD REDCODE that are as good as you could ever want from the 1080p 4:4:4 format.

Congrats on getting the camera!

I do believe Graeme stated this recently in a thread, sounds accurate :-)

Thanks Chase!

Right, it's RAW. I can pull a 4:4:4 file from it, that's more than you can say for most cameras.

Hopefully side handles are out of back order soon, otherwise a lot of us will be sitting with scarlets, but no powering options, with the exception of the guys with v-lock systems already in place
