Some strange problems with this shot. Can anyone offer any suggestions for how to avoid the red circles in the image? I'm not talking about the lens flaring. It seems to be something with the sensor.

Wow that's crazy... a definite pattern. I was going to say it must be the lens, but you're right... it certainly seems to be something related to the sensor. Very odd....

Plus there was an Epic thread, with a European (cobble street location on a hill - with sun in shot) pic that showed this as well... can't remember the thread - just the image - I remember Toia commenting in it too... maybe I'll try a google for it!

Every single camera on the market produces patterns when pointed at a bright source. Although this phenomena is unique, its not uncommon
