Buying and selling on line always carries some amount of risk. Even with e-bay. Luckily, nearly all of my transactions initiated through Reduser were local /face-to-face, so they worked out fine. The 2 items that I did buy that were not local (additional storage and a Waves panel) worked out fine .... but in each case the sellers were long-time members and known users.

Always always always message the person on facebook and check the profile for interaction with real people (likes, comments). Tell the person to check the "Other" inbox on facebook if he/she can't see the message.

Many, many pros and reputable people that are not on FB.
Just because they do not have a presence there, it's not necessarily a red flag.

Use as many tools as you can to establish insight into a persons trustworthiness. Linked-In, professional societies, even Google searches may provide you with enough information to make a decision.

Though it may sound paranoid, IMHO, Trust is earned, not assumed.

Im not on face book:cornut:
I usually get a real email and phone number and actually call the person and then if I feel I need more do a little more digging and asking for references. Not a sure thing but starts to weed out the possibilities
Hope you get your money back from PP
Thanks for the info..

Paranoid? Not at all... scamming is rampant on the internet. Always assume you might be dealing with a scammer unless you know the person really well. Saved my ass ($$.$$$) a couple of times
