I have a few Canon lenses and I want to make sure they are compatible with one of the Scarlet mounts before I order the kit. Which mount goes with these lenses?

Canon 24-70 Zoom EF L
Canon 17mm TSE
Canon 1.4 Tele Extender EF

Should I order the AL or the Ti PL? Are there any autofocus capabilities? Any informational links to share?

As a pro shooter for more than 13 years, I'm embarrassed that I don't know this but if some Canon/Scarlet owner can enlighten me, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

No worries Corey. There are a lot of new concepts when moving up to Red cameras.

The difference between the Al and the Ti mounts is only the material they are built out of. Al = Aluminum. Ti = Titanium. Apart from that they function identically. Personally I own the Al mount.

The Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L and the Canon TS-E 17mm f/4L work properly with the mounts. Recently support has been added for the Canon 1.4X Tele Extender and it appears to work, although I haven't tested it on every lens.

There is indeed autofocus functionality. There are several different modes. Using the 5.0" Touch LCD Screen allows you to tap and focus anywhere you want on the frame. It's important to note that the Canon TS-E 17mm f/4L is a manual focus lens only and does not support autofocus on any camera body.

There are several Canon lenses that haven't been profiled yet by Red to have their iris and autofocus added into the firmware, but pretty much all of the popular glass has been accounted for. Most of the L Series and nearly all of the "gold band" lenses.

Cheers,

Phil
