Say you were going to cut a new reel and your r3d sources where not on a big server but stored on many internal disks i a closet. So you cant connect them all at ones and start cutting. As i understand its not recomended to delete files from a transfered ssd. Thats why there is no red media app that let you brows and delete the r3d files youre not using. That said i know it will of course work if you only copy the interesting r3d files.
So i wonder how you would do it?
I would plugin a disc with an finished project on and open the final premiere project. Find the interesting clips and use the reveal in explorer function in premiere. Copy the r3d files to a fast raid. Do this for all projects that contains shots that will be used. Start a new project and name it reel... And cut the reel.
Of course it would be much easier to just collect the different master files of finished projects and go from there. But im more interested how you would do this with the original
