  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

You are going to have to stop hanging around in fields and on roads or you will be reported to the police as a weird pervo...

In the meantime, perhaps anyone who might want to be notified on a RED get together somewhere in January should drop me a PM with their email address and I'll put together a contact list when I've given the message a week or two to perculate and maybe send it out so we have a round robin thing going on... and I will now go and gaze lovingly at my Red Pro Prime set sitting in their new boxes all pretty and sparkly before Charley brutally manhandles them!

I tried to go to the event at the Silicon Valley Studios, but it was full online. I called someone at the studio and they told me that they were at capacity and no no one else could come. I was bummed that they wouldn't let me attend.

That's kind of why I tried resurrecting the SC thing...

I'm more than down for setting up another. I have some contacts and could get us a spot at a studio in the south bay, if there's enough interest.

How about we try another Santa Cruz get together after the holidays? We could go for the Perg again on the friday the 22nd? Or whenever. My calendar is pretty open for January right now, unfortunately. I'm completely open to suggestions.

I'd like to get the dialogue going, since we seem to have a little momentum right now.

Just let me know, and I'll do whatever I can to help facilitate.
 
Jason, you are the man! Sorry about the studio RED evening - they got to about 60 rsvp people and pulled the plug on any more, which was a shame because we would have talked all night!!!!

And Chris, when it comes to the Red, I'm more than willing to talk all night!

Thanks for the bump - I hadn't got that down. I have started another thread about a South San Francisco Bay User Group to try and get more information about what, when, where and how everyone would like to do thing in the future to try and get a solution that works best for the most people... so please do go there and send in a note or two " January South San Francisco Bay Get Together"

Thanks for the reminder! I'm planning on being there. I am just finishing up a week long commercial shoot on a RED out in Miami... It reminded me how much I love the camera... Definitely getting a scarlet as soon as I can. Looking forward to hanging out with other red local red users!

No worries Jason, it will happen soon.

Chris and I have already had a chat about a meeting in the south bay in February.

I'd really like to be there and should be able to do so next month. And maybe I can bring the truck. Unfortunately it has been in the shop for a week and a half. I'm not impressed with Monarch's customer service thus far. :emote_head_explode:

I'm bringing my laptop, but the wireless there is laggy.
If you have a reel or project snippet or something cool to show, I recommend cutting a DVD and bringing that. Or your own laptop, etc.
