Hey guys,

I am having some issues in some corporate work i've been doing lately. Quick disclaimer: not an audio expert, but lately i have been in the sitation where i would be responsible for audio as well. I have searched for these specific questions, but they might be too dumb to ever have been debated, haha. I have a shoot coming tomorrow, and i figured I would ask for some guidance:

1. For tomorrow i should be ok since its a sit down interview, but, i have been in the situation (loud performance, etc), where the levels are just too high on camera, and since I cannot lower the gain any lower than 15 db, the sound breaks here and there. Im talking in a situation where for instance an EX1 or HVX would def be fine, but the Scarlet seems to not go low enough?
2. My main concern: I use the Atomos samurai for these gigs (i have been doing more lately). Well, the levels on the display on the samurai tell me i am actually peeking, super high. So i pull them down from camera (im feeding sound to Atomos through SDI, going into ABOX on the scarlet), they still look too hight for comfort, and when i review the footage.. they are actually super low! Anyone has encountered this?

Any tips for my shoot tomorrow would be greatly appreciated!

Run audio directly to your Samuri??
Maybe offers better level control... its fab thru my PIX 240.

I totally would, except the input is a lousy mini jack! Also, i would skip camera and not be able to roll for back up... Yea that pix 240 is really something else! Smooth sailing when i get to use that one...
