Would a Sachtler Video 15 SB head support a RED kit (mounted 7" LCD, drive, CF Module, battery, mmb1, mff1, NO EVF)?

Specs say this fluid head can handle up to 35lbs...

As an owner of an SB15 I find that whilst it may be able to counterbalance a light Red rig, the pan and tilt fluid dampening is just too light to be really useful for anything bigger than a MiniDV/HDV sized camera.

I'm wondering how the new Sachtler Cine 7+7HD fairs with the larger cameras as it appears to have a good counterbalance range too. I think it's something like 2-22kg? Though if there's not enough drag in the higher pan/tilt settings it's pretty redundant how much weight it can handle.

I worked extensively with the 7+7 as it's widely available for rental in Montréal (unfortunately, few rent O'Connor in the video world) and it'll take a fully decked Red One no problem unless you start using really large glass. The thing is it can take the weigh, but it doesn't have the same latitude for balancing as the O'Connor does so it can get tricky when you take the tilt dampening off. Also, I've only seen them with 150mm bowls (no Mitchell), which can be a problem when your rig gets real heavy...

Alexis I think you're talking about the old Studio II 7+7. I have one of those too. They are a 150mm bowl. The head I referred to in my previous post was the brand new 100mm model, the Cine 7+7 HD. It is only a little bit heavier than the SB15. I haven't seen one in the flesh or read any reports on it though (other than off the Sachtler website).
