Hello all, getting close to buying a fluid head for my newly acquired Epic package. An Oconner setup is out of my budget range so I'm searching for the next best thing with heavy payload capabilities. Can you comment on the pro/cons and any experiences using the 7+7 studio II head? Thank you!

Absolutely love my 7x7 studio head and medium weight Sachtler 150mm ball tripods. Simply the best payload for weight of any head/tripod combo. If you find a good one, you can't go wrong.

Thanks Steve, just wondering if the 7+7 would still be suitable for a lighter weight epic setup? I believe the the head has 3 counter balance settings correct? Have you ever had difficulty finding balance when your rig is stripped down to bare bones and in the 20lb range? Also, I know the 7+7 is old, can you still get service on them / do they still make the parts? Thanks!

I've never had a problem with a stripped down rig. and yes, there's a company in Burbank, Ca, Transylvania Express, which over the years has had all the parts necessary to do service and repairs for me.

Love the 7 + 7. I've used them for years with all kinds of cameras.
