Saara Aalto - Reach the Stars (Rovio / Angry Birds -music video, Finnish Lapland)

Hello everyone! I decided to share here my first project shot on RED, a music video created with Finnish artist Saara Aalto for Rovio's Angry Birds -themed celebration of Chinese New Year (Year of the Horse). The video was shot last winter in Finnish Lapland near Kittilä (well above the Arctic Circle) and released on Chinese New Year. The shooting days were quite a challenge for the team and the equipment because of the winter's coldest weeks - the temperature went down below -36 C (-33 F) and all our mobile phones stopped working outside and when we were shooting on the top of arctic hill Ylläs, the icy wind frosted everything - for one moment even the lens on the camera frosted so I needed to scrape it off to continue shooting. But the RED we used (R1 MX SSD) worked quite well, only one error came but went away when the SSD warmed up a bit.

The film was shot on location at Snow Village Ice Castle / Ice Hotel (www.snowvillage.fi) and Lapin Saaga horse stables (www.lapinsaaga.fi).
