  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Russell James + Epic + Canon Mount + An Angel

Well, there is a Canon mount on an Epic on a major shoot... Hmmm. What could that mean?

Production Titanium mounts should start shipping in early late August / early September.

Bingo!

Are we beginning to see a pattern here? Is there method amongst the madness?

Seriously though, thanks for the info Jarred, and thank you M.Halsell for asking.

absolutely... since the Nikon is more mechanical than the Canon ( iris motor ) it is trailing behind the Canon.

Hey Jarred, on my still shoots I'm always shooting tethered to a computer. We're reviewing images in Capture 1 Pro as they come in, which is critical for being able to judge lighting, contrast and the ability to zoom in to 100% for styling/props/focus. I often have art directors checking gestures and body language on talent as the shots come in so we know when we've got "it." What would a similar Epic Stills workflow be like? I can't imagine that the Victoria's Secret art directors aren't monitoring some sort of real time feed....???

Thanks!
CB

Hmmm.

See my thread suggesting/requesting an EPIC rear module with a Thunderbolt port... that would tether very nicely. I could see myself capturing direct to computer and cutting out the SSDs entirely in certain situations too. I used to shoot some landscapes with a scanner back on a view camera tethered to an old Mac.

hey jarred, since you love hot girls and even hotter cars :)
wanna see a NOT YET RELEASED bugatti shot on epic?

Bugatti L`or Blanc

http://www.bugatti.com/en/home.html

moving images in august at The IAA in germany.

would like to see that girl in that car

So... Miranda Kerr, in lingerie, in a Bugatti, holding an Epic? I'm gonna pass out!

Jarred, nice to check the (promising) size/form factor out of this combo, once again... neat (E :-)

How about the machind version mount you said might be available end of June?, underwater with PL is a pita compared to electronic canon! Not to mention 5 times as expensive for same lenses.

Hmmm...Titanium? Does that mean that the price went up?

The cast aluminum Canon mounts are still targeted to be priced at $500. The machined Titanium Canon mounts will be $2000 ( same price as the Titanium PL mount ).

All the Canon mounts being tested in the field right now are machined mounts.

It says something that this thread is only 4 pages in yet has quickly segued from Miranda Kerr to what material the lens mount is made out of.

Priorities people!

So ready for the Canon mount...sooner the better, for us underwater guys, it will solve our problems. Shot EPIC 416 last week in the Bahamas UW with a Focus Optics 14-24mm lens. Have so many Canon lenses though that would serve us well UW. How can I attach a high res image to this message? This is such low res, the original is so nice.
