Alright. After installing both Red Rocket & CS5.5 properelly with REDimporter too.... I am still in the very same spot as I was at the beginning of this gaint learning curve. I have literally done everything I can do, I know, and possibly look up and I have a video that needs to be edited by the end of today. This is extremely annoying and I literally just... I don't know. I am honestly stumpped. Great thing I'm going to be fired! That aside. I am still trying to troubleshoot this as best as I can. Please, if you would. Help me in any light! I NEED help with the whole thing, because honestly. I don't know where I've went wrong. I don't. It's fairly frustration.... Premiere is not recognizing RedRocket; however the computer (mac) is, and it pulls up in REDCine-X. I am not a IT kid, but I edit. If I cannot get this fixed, I cannot edit. So. In the end. I'm screwed. Ugh...

I know nothing about using the RedRocket because I don't have one. But if push comes to shove, you can still edit in CS5.5 without using one. Is than an option?

Pretty sure the Redrocket i'snt used for playback or editing in Premiere, yet the Cuda card is. The Redrocket is only initialized for the Debayer/transcode/render out of Premiere. Same goes for Resolve. I don't use Premiere but this is my understanding of it. I own and use a Rocket but I know for a fact it has no effect on playback/color in Resolve but takes over for the final debayer/render/transcode.

Set your timeline to 1080p and see if that helps. You are most likely trying to cut in full 4K correct? If your system still cant handle it, transcode your footage in Redcine and edit with those, then relink to the R3D's after with an EDL to Color/Finish.

Could you give more details on your settings and what exactly your trying to do?

We are running CS5.5 BUT.... we still had to load the Adobe CS4 RED installer for it to work on our CS5.5 PC. I double checked with my editor because that didn't sound right be he assured me that once he had done that it worked. Mac for us was fine too but problem with the PC until we downloaded the update from Adobe.

Matt, your information with regards to Resolve is incorrect. Resolve DOES use the RR card while color correcting to handle debayering tasks.

It might very well but with my system I get the same performance with and without it. I only see an actual benefit with final renders which get better than real time or real time.

While I've got everyone's attention. I am still learning the layout of Premiere Pro.... as I am so so much more comfortable with Final Cut. How do I go about importing/exporting my footage into both After Effects & Color Correction. I've tried both and I am message saying it, on both programs, cannot read the footage. What can I do to fix this?
