Hey this is just something i heard, no special source, just rumours,a friend telling a friend telling a friend style.

n`vidia wants to introduce a N´vidia card with hdsdi out working with OSX,
and a new JVC 4k Monitor for much less then the sony thing seems to be introduced at IBC.

This is what i heard, no further details, no pricing.

So does anybody know something? :)
(Thinking of Captain Tomorrow Mark)

Yes. AND two models of 4K projectors. Do not underestimate JVC for projectors.

isnt JVC owned by some Texas company now?

Ironically, ownership lags far behind the branding of the cow, nowadays....

Hi Kaya,

Axel

I would rather ATI cards for OSX than Nividia,,they are bad on PCs so
How should i expect them on osx

Bassam,

you hardly find any ATI cards in the professional systems at all, on all platforms. When it comes to market leading graphics solutions, NVidia is a single player. Only in the lower end market, ie. home graphics and gaming, ATI is a substantial player.

If you look at true "of the shelve" high end graphic workstations, I do not know a single vendor that uses any ATI card in a turnkey solution.

danke Axel, check mal bitte deine PM wegen einem speziellen Anliegen :)

Nvidia is specified with Avid systems. Worth looking forward to for that alone. However, the price of their PC only cards with HDSDI out is high so something from Matrox, for instance, might be cheaper. Depends on how you configure I guess.

I second what Steve said about the 8800GT, it runs pretty good and performs pretty well for what it is. No issues here. AMD/ATI is coming out with a new 3750 card that will have OSX drivers and it should be faster for most things than the 8800GT, but not considerably so. I wouldn't pull my 8800GT for an upgrade to that card.

Axel : i am saying that ATI is much better with mac system than nvidia

That has nothing to do with the card - it's Apple's problem for failing to write a good driver. But it seems like the driver support is improving. However I'm ever skeptical about SDI output on the Mac side.

cheers,

Normally I'm skeptical about the Junk Video Corporation, but their 24" LCD looks very good (I'm surprised they don't advertise it more) so it'll be interesting to see what they come out with. Heck... their 24" LCD has a better contrast ratio than the ~$30k Sony BVM-L (then again, so does many many other models).
