I have been in touch with the customer service at both OffHollywood and RT Motion about this issue. I am getting really steppy and choppy focus pulls from my RT Motion MK3.1 Controller and OMOD POE. I have flashed the newest firmware on all devices. I have tried different antennas on the POE. I have tried with the MK3.1 motor and EF lenses with electronic focus. Even with the controller at MAX USA power, ten feet away, with any obstacle in-between the focus gets choppy. For example, if I am on the Ronin and I cross paths between the camera and the hand unit just a few feet away, focus completely loses control and becomes choppy.

Bluetooth can't go through people, due to it's low frequency. However, this unit is using WiFi and should not be affected by a person crossing the path of the signal. What is happening?

I have been recommended by OffHollywood to drive up to LA to visit their west coast store to test out different units to try to isolate the problem to either the hand unit or the POE. Seeing as that is a two hour drive from where I live, I wanted to turn this over to the forums first and see if anyone here has any input.

Thank you in advance for any advice you may have!

Hey John. Not every Canon lens will work great. Also, using MAX power at close distances doesn't actually work well. Use the LOW or MED power at shorter distances.

The sigma art lenses have great electronic focus. Regardless, I’ve tried it with the motor and still had the same issues. Also, the problem is significantly worse at lower power settings.

I'm using RTmotion sidekick and RTmotion motors so I don't know OMOD/Sigma art combo, but I think you have a faulty unit... because RF range is huge on mine.
