I am using RRX with Abobe CC 2015 (the update that came out a couple of days ago). I can get to the source settings in the Effects tab when I click on the clip in the project panel but as everyone knows not in the timeline.

All in all it seems to work but where I was getting smooth 6k playback of native RD3 files now it is clunky and slow. If I enable CUDA GPU acceleration inside Premier Pro then it plays much better. On CC-2014 it actually played RD3 files back better and faster with this CUDA set to OFF.

The BIG However is that when I toggle the Rocket on and off in the source settings I don't really notice any difference in playback speed with CUDA either on or off. I can hear the fan speed up on the Rocket-X from time to time but playback is NOTHING like the smooth playback I am getting in Red Cine X.

Any ideas??? I am about to go back to cc-2014 but I have already converted a bunch of projects to CC-2105 hoping it would be better.

ALSO, whenever I tried use the "J-K-L" scrubbing tools in Premier Pro, If I go to fast in either forward or reverse then Premiere Pro Crashes... EVERYTIME!!!!

I am astonished at how badly PP CC 2015 is behaving for me these days. It seems that everything I do, even with very simple projects, sends it crashing. Between the FCPX thread and the released of Resolve 12, I'm about ready to banish Premiere Pro to 2nd or 3rd tier status.

Michael T,

I agree with you. I switched from FCP-X because I feared that Apple wasn't committed to building professional workstations. Since they haven't updated the MacPro Cylinder in 3 years and it is still running 4 year old Xeons and graphics cards, I think I was right. However, Adobe CC is progressively less and less stable.

ONE THING, I did do today was recreate my entire project from scratch. That seemed to helps somewhat, HOWEVER, it still crashes if you try to scrub through the timeline using the "JKL" keys. Works fine if you click and drag the current time indicator but I am used to using primarily keyboard commands.

It certainly plays back MUCH slower than it did in the 2014 version... very choppy even with 4 Titan-Xs and a Red Rocket-X all running on SSDs.

It's funny to read all of these issues that people are having with the new version of premiere, and then to read that most of these issues are related to old projects being updated in the new projects.
Premiere CC2015 handles R3D footage much differently than it did in the past, so if you are having issue after updating, then you have no one to blame but yourself.
Remember the golden rule... "Do not update software during a project"
This goes for camera firmware, operating systems etc.
If you are updating in the middle of a project and then you end up having issues, then you know immediately where the issues are coming from.
When updating to CC2015, you can keep 2014 on your system, and I highly recommend you do so if you have open projects.

But the subscription model kinda negates that wisdom psychologically.

CC 2015 is falling apart with brand new projects started from scratch. Simple things like: I have 30 seconds of video and I want to use a key to put a second layer over top and it just falls down dead. Of course I would be furious if this happened to in the middle of a project, or worse, at the end of a project. But I'm seeing all kinds of infant mortality as I start projects. That's what I'm talking about.

is it possible to downgrade cc?

you could xml back, project wise

Yes, but...CC 2014 is behind the times and backwards in other ways. The FCPX thread got me excited again about FCP, but Apple's half-assed implementation of REDCODE (no access to A- and X-tracks) is making DaVinci Resolve 12 look like the place I'm going to start my next project. I hope it proves to be a solid performer.
