Hi all,

I really need help ASAP on this one

I upgraded to build 30 and when I'm trying to trancoded I'm getting these errors.

I've checked and there is no dropped frames and all was working great until I updated.

We have 3 cameras today and I'm panicking !!

Can you not use an older Redcine-X Pro version still? You can install and even run multiple versions fine on the same computer (although only one application can access Red Rocket at a time).

Thanks guys yeah I've just gone back I think I'll keep using the older version unless we shoot HDR as it doesn't work on 22 (the version i was previously and am now currently using) I just wondered if anyone else got these messages and what they mean exactly .

Thanks so much for getting back to me so fast guys really appreciate the time folk take to help each other on here

With a newer Redcine-X Pro, you need to check you are up to date with latest Rocket firmware & driver, but don't upgrade in the middle of a job!!

Ah thanks Eric I've gone back to older version now just annoying because we sometimes shoot HDR and I can't Simple blend on version 22. That was why I upgraded.

Yesterday was the first day using version 30 and all seemed to be going fine but this morning nothing was working and i was getting those messages I attached in my first post.

Went back to the old build (22.1) and it was working fine
Shut it down and restarted it and got the same messages as before.
restarted twice and now its working but this is very worrying that I never had glitch for so long but now this and all from upgrading to the guid it asked me to.

What's worse is going back to old version doesn't seem to have fixed the problem completely

So this morning i had to restart 4 times before it would transcode footage properly. Is there anyone from R3D on here that could help as this is worrying and a major inconvenience. We shoot a lot at 4k so time is precious and I can't be doing with RedCineX crashing.

I had heard R3D was bad for this and this is my first R3D job. 50 days into shoot no problems and i was liking it but this is really bad

I would urgently investigate where you can hire another Red Rocket and/or MacPro Tower locally, just in case your Rocket dies completely.

I would then hire it for a day or two, so you can then try to fix the problem with yours via usual steps. Otherwise, trying to fix the problem may make it worse leaving you with no means of keeping up with the shoot.

Shit thanks Eric. I'm using an iMac 27" (2013) and the rocket is connected via an Mlogik box. I'll look into that. I'm going to contact Red Europe and raise this with them also

If you hire a bare Red Rocket card, be aware that they seem to be more physically fragile than most third party expansion & graphics cards. Even slight flexing is best avoided - take extreme care when removing or installing it into an enclosure or computer, and keep components clear of catching on parts of the housing in case they are knocked off or damaged. Anti-static measures should also be used.

It may be that your card just needs reseating to clear bad contacts, but the above precautions should be observed.

That's good advice thanks Eric mines seems to be working now but I've taken steps should disaster strike. I'm still hoping to get a clear answer from RED as to why this is happening and when I do I'l let the forum know.

Same thing again this morning so I'm, running a test without the RR Card. It seems to be working just now and oddly the transcode times aren't that different

However it is a bit longer more like real time and it means I can't watch back at a decent debayer :-(

It would probably move a bit faster these days, due to GPU support.

The callback message is quite often a quite "not so good" message.

I have one laying.

I was having similar issues with my Rocket and a Sonnet Thunderbolt enclosure, once I reflashed the firmware and rolled back to Redcine X 22.4 I stopped having the decode errors pop up. Best of luck!

Thanks Robert (and everyone) I took it out the mLogik box it lives in gave it a clean reinstalled it updated again to build 30 and updated rocket firmware and it worked for me today. I'm just hoping it works again tomorrow and the problem is solved. I will let you know. Hope yours keeps working Robert

Hi Robert it's happening again can you please give me a step by step guide as to how you reflashed the firmware? thank you
