When we get our RPP's back from Duclos any day now (see here), we plan on renting them out for $50/each or $250/set (of 5), per day.
dang, that seems cheap, especially from a place like Keslow. What's the weekly and monthly? 2 day weeks and 7 day months?
Why does everyone think there are going to be 4000+ sets of lenses out there? Considering many of the packages I see offered, a ton of people just had enough money to buy a RED and slightly equipt it. They don't have another $20,000+ to spend on a set of lenses. So I think the lenses will stay in the $300-$500 range for a while. I know that since I am the only cine rental house in my part of the state, I should be able to get $350 for a long time since shipping lenses in costs at least an extra $150 on top of everything.

I agree, I would be surprised if 25% of Red owners buy a RPP set.
Just got the lenses and will be renting them for 250 a day and 750 a week. Also have a bunch of other goodies, Red Package, Jimmy Jib, Dolly, Steadicam, HMI lights etc... Located in Oceanside, CA. By the way these lenses are very very good.

It is going to be interesting what will happen to the rental prices of more expensive glass: the S4s, the UPs, the MPs. On one hand, they should drop because RPPs seem to almost as good and much more economical, on the other hand, for that 10% of projects where faster/different/sharper lenses are required, the rental houses will have to demand a premium to make it viable.
Not that it makes difference to me, not renting anything lately, but curious. Anyone, opinion?

exactly...
I was recently offered $500 to rent my package for 2 days AND DP a SnoopDog video...
Well I live pretty close to Keslow and that is what they are renting them for. I guess if I am going to have any chance of renting them my price can't be higher then theirs. I agree it sounds low but I will rent to the right people and help pay for the glass. Mostly I will be using them for my own projects so I am not to worried about rentals anyways.
