Nice to read that... I finally get my first set of RPPs in Buenos Aires next Monday 26, the other set is resting in Miami and will have to wait for a couple of weeks to have it at home .. but I am missing the 18mm beforehand!

Awesome! Can't wait. We have a 300mm and 100mm RPP how about something in between like a 180mm or 200mm? =)

I'll wait until it's perfect that's for sure. I was able to shoot on the rest of the RPPs this weekend for the first time and absolutely loved them. Superb lenses.

I was listening to Bob Fischer of Optics1 talk and he likened getting perfect lens designs i.e, sperical abberation, coma, astigatism, field curvature & distortion to all line up, was likened to getting all the reels of a poker(slot) machine to line up...and greeted with similiar reactions.

But don't be such a pussy Jarred, what are you going to do when you have to create wide FF35 lenses?
Is it all spherics or have you aspherics in the 18mm?

Me too.... shoulder mount ain't no joke with this setup... even carrying the camera by the handle bar leaves the pattern impression in the palm of my hands.

Just thought I'd bring this thread up with the 30th update on the 18's ETA.

18mm RPP final working prototypes in December. Production and shipping should begin in January. We feel pretty good about this schedule since we have history on this program.

that is what is taking so long.. getting the 18mm to the same size as the 25mm while maintaining the quality is alot harder than it would seem.

The good news is.. we finally have gotten to that point and those final prototypes are being built.
