I apologize if this has been covered before but here goes:

I am loosing lots of lightning footage to banding that results from the rolling shutter. I have tried shooting with no shutter 30fps at 1/30th with the same problem. I've also tried frame blending, which doesn't seem to help either. Any other ideas how I can minimize this problem?

It appears that the band separating frames is about 50 or so pixels wide. I think the difference from rolling shutter on the RED compared to film cameras is the width of the "transition band".

Here is my suggestion: Give us the option to widen the transition band (feather it more) from about 50 pixels to 2000 pixels or more. A less defined band would probably fix the problem. Would this be possible with a future firmware upgrade, or a possible feature on Epic?

Thanks,
Phil
