Before all the posts about how my thread can be easily searched, I'm on a very small island and have a lack of internet.

My question is

I shoot an action sport and I'm trying to keep my shutter speed down, I'm using a 300 2.8 canon lens and its very bright out. with no filters or matte box its very hard to keep the shutter at a low aperture to obtain optimal depth of field. when i raise the shutter speed the footage looks unordinarily fast "rolling shutter effect" is their any temporary solutions to achieve a generally low shutter at 1/48th witha low aperture? thank you for all your responses and I'm sorry internet is expensive and short timed around here

you should be able to correct the rolling shutter in post if it's noticeable.

i think what you're talking about is motion blur... you can try reelsmart motionblur if your images are crisp...

only other way is to expose for 320 ISO and/or use filtration. if you've got decent aviators... stick 'em in front of the lens? not sure what other options you've got. go to a car window tinting place and ask for some tint material...? you need filtration.

You may shoot shorter exposure times, use a RS filter in post and artificial motion blur ( http://www.revisionfx.com/products/rsmb/ ), but that is a very creepy "fix it in post" solution compared to any decent filtration. You'd be better off using Paul's suggestions of improvised filtration, IMHO.

Yeah, just to be clear this is not "rolling shutter" as you're saying - this is a shutter speed issue. Unless you've got filtration, you're going to get a more "video" "fast shutter speed" effect that can be dealt with as both Paul and Uli suggest.

I would change the name of the thread though since this isn't the problem you're asking about.
