  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Rokinon 16mm T2.2 cine lens coming

Some people have used it but no one has posted if it vignettes at 5k yet.

Thanks Tom. I'm also looking for more examples of Sigma 18-35 and Rokinon 16mm. Can't wait also for the new Sigma 24-70/f2. Looks like all the manufacturers are moving full steam ahead now with all these new options.

There are a few 18-35 Sigma .r3ds floating around the forums (I think Dan Kanes posted them)... They look stupidly sharp at f1.8.. Plus I think it's parfocal so it holds focus through the zoom... Needless to say, 18mm at f1.8 is likely to be brighter than t2.2 of the 16mm. Assuming their prices are similar, it'd be very difficult to forgo the 18-35 even with the cinevized add-ons...

That said, if Rokinon comes out with an 18mm t1.5 cine to match the rest of the set, I'd likely buy that day one...

Hi Mike, yes I was aware of Dan Kanes .r3ds. I would like to see more real world stuff in motion filmed with one of these bad boys though to make a purchasing decision. One of the things that I like about this 16mm rokinon though is the manual iris so I can buy a nikon version and use on the RED one nikon mount and then also with adapter on a Scarlet with canon mount.

Would like to also see the 18-35 on shoots to see the versatility of the zoom range. It seems small only 2x.

It's an APS-C lens so it will likely vignette a lot at 5K.

I'm stoked for this, I love the 14, but this will be nice to have in between the 24/14. And this will actually work with my matte box.
