RODE Video Mic Question

I bought one of these (http://woodencamera.com/hot-shoe) and I screwed it onto the top of my outrigger handle and was hoping to put the rode videomic up there. I will have pics soon.

I mounted an old Audio Technica long shotgun mic exactly this way on the handle with the Wooden Camera part. Works great! Slight delay still in the audio via headphones, but works fine.

I have put the the mic on the top of the handle and the A-box on the side of the handle, all on a Wooden Camera quick release on their long nato rail. Then, I have the LCD on a noga arm on another quick release. Works pretty great. With 2 quick releases and unplugging, I can have the brain by itself (with the nato rail on there still). Pretty great configuration.
