New film center going to open in Shreveport, LA. This is my biggest client for design and video work. Dedicated to the best in independent, classic and foreign film. I'll be screening my films here when it's complete. I also helped design the entire video system in the building from the ground up. Everything HD- Everything top of the market.

I'm super excited. If anyone here is around the area, you should come and check it out when we open in April.

And, actually, we were going to get a D-cinema setup for the theaters, but the options were to get 2K now or wait and get 4K as soon as Red announces and when more indie films get scanned in for digital projection. We have 1080 for blu-ray right now, but we will be on the list as soon as the 4K projector is announced.

EDIT: I might add that this video was a last minute call up for us. My stuff doesn't usually look like crap. Just so you know... Zero lighting, zero anything...

Hi Chris,

I can see why your excited! Very nice set up and what a great resource for filmmakers. When I get my Red, I would love to drive down from Little Rock and check it all out.

On a side note Chris, I am looking for a resource for freelancers that I can hire... most below the line. Most of the guys here with any talent are full time with one of the three majors or they have their own gigs with clients like me. Other than the your states film office what other resources do you have for freelance crew?

Louisiana is really pouring it on... the surrounding states legislatures need to wake up. But hey I am very impressed by the way your state has been working to support the industry the past five years.

Cheers Chris and thanks for sharing man.

Andrew

One source is www.lafilm.org which has an incomplete and extremely old list of talent

OR

You can call up the Robinson Film Center at (318) 424-9090. They have a production resources department that has a disc full of resumes that they can ship you. Every production in town asks for one of these discs. It's chuck full of local talent (specifically crew) both union and non-union.

And, of course, I'm a sole proprietorship which basically means I'm freelance...

;)

Very nice info, thank you. I will certainly take advantage of it and make the call.

Chris, when my Red comes in and I have wrapped my head around it, let's get together. Knowing your freelance as well is great then and will be taken advantage of... I enjoyed your short film that you posted a link to here on red user and of course I very much appreciate RedRelay. I will pm you when the time is near.

Thanks again Chris,

Andrew
