  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi guys, tomorrow we will present a preview of our movie @ Mostra del cinema di Venezia and there will be a press conference where we will speak about the project and also the technology involved. It's the first 5k movie in Italy, the first shot on Epic and we had dailies on ipad with the teradek and people thought we did some weird voodoo stuff...
I want to share this preview with my fellow reduser but I want to point out some things before:
first) it's a preview, it's not the official trailer, we still shooting
second) there's some noise in certain scenes but it was because we didn't perform black shading in that new location and it was really hot 42° celsius, when we perfomed the black shading properly we didn't have any issue
third with Resolve the noise is very, very, very reduced but for a series of reasons we didn't have the time to make a proper correction so for now take this as a preview on the internet where compression is heavy and enjoy. Hope you like it.

I love it when people who make exemplary images like these are so apologetic about the little things. I only hope to shoot footage (can we call it that anymore?) that's as "flawed" as this.

I don't know much about Italian cinema but this trailer looks to me like an Italian film. By which, I mean it's beautifully Italian looking (in style) and it looks like actual film.
 
The car shot is so beautiful. Skin tones especially in the night shots are stunning. I love Italian movies. Can't wait to see it. Subtitles please :(

Sharp in a good way!

I can only imagine how good it would look projected in 4K.......
